The design of this crowned agate heart - a love token- dates back to the seventeenth century, when such pieces were sold in ""luckenbooths"", or lockable stalls, along the Royal Mile near St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland. Crafted in Iona Scotland in Sterling Silver and banded Orange agate, with etched details, circa 1900.

About 2 inches long and 1.75 inches wide at its widest point, 18g, marked on reverse as Sterling.
