A solid, blank canvas. 

The shank appears to be engraved with a design to those of us not blessed with broader linguistic knowledge, but appears to actually be an Arabic inscription. Word has it, part of it, at least, says "with hardship comes ease." 

I have learned that with languages stemming from early societies where stone was the first material used upon which to scribe, lines are more angular, whereas in societies where more fluid materials were used, the lines of the language were fluid as well. Interesting fact, no? 

18k signet, 15g, size 6.5 and sizable. Has a bit of a tiny nick in one corner which can be repaired by my jeweler if desired,along with a patina, signs of love and wear despite being clean on the top.
