An anti Kay Jewelry commercial story. Humor me with this read, which continues in the comments (including details on this ring, which is available ).

10 years into our marriage, with the addition of  two kids, several dogs  and a house, shit got real. The very long story of why, is not with this tale is for. This is a Jewelry account, after all. We are all about the inner gold digging here.

What you need to know is we were separated for two years. Reconciliation took a lot of work (mostly on his part, of course, because I am perfect. But I digress). In any case, here we are, 15 more years later. Glad as hell we did it.

During said separation, I marched into our downtown Tiffany with a small pile of Tiffany jewelry, asking what on earth they could take back as it was all from this dumpster fire of a relationship and I didn't want any of it. The associate behind the counter smiled wanly. It seemed perhaps he had  been down this path before...

He let me know that an anniversary ring I had was technically an engagement ring, so I could upgrade that piece. The rest would have to go home with me.

The ring I wanted to upgrade to, for my very own engagement to myself kind of ring was a beautiful Paloma Picasso ring with a lovely dimpled shank. "That cannot be sized," the kind sales associate let me know. "Well then I can't get it," I replied. "What if my next partner is a French pastry Chef and I move to Paris and eat lots of pastries and get really fat? It will no longer fit me then. Anything is possible!" and I left.

At the end of the day, and prior to our decision to reconcile, I sold all of it. I did keep some little Tiffany studs. When we carefully and lovingly mended our relationship, those little Tiffany studs ended up being the perfect frame for the old European cut diamond when it was reset in its new iteration (referenced in yesterday's post, and pictured here if you scroll).

This year, for our wedding anniversary I took the center stone out a third time and reset it. What you see here is what was left.

at first, I wanted to just choose a different center stone, but after wearing it around for a while I realized it was really cool just like this. And now, it is available to you. And yes, those are the diamonds from the Tiffany studs!

14k rose gold open band with 2 .30ctw brilliant cut diamonds bezel set in platinum. Size 7 and sizable (no fancy dimples here).
